How we started

After a tasting session at my home, where I invited about 10 or so friends to meet my mother and to taste her cooking (no surprises everyone turned up!) We decided to set up a stall at a quality market with the idea to share the taste of traditional Indian home cooking.

Having been invited to Broadway Market in Hackney, we set up our stall in November 2005.
We have been serving our menu since then to the good folk there every Saturday.

Since October 2010 we have been trading at Borough Market

Our tradition

Having been taught to cook by her mother, my grandmother left the region of Gujarat in India with my grandfather in the 1940’s.

As with many people who leave their home country, my grandparents held onto the culture of the time; religion, language, family values and food.
This culture was passed onto the next generation and in a similar fashion to the next, bringing the culture of the 1940’s to the present day.
Integral to this cultural time capsule is food.

Our method

My mother and I make our food and range of products and using traditional methods, techniques and whole ingredients.

Our Curries, Cooking Sauces, Chutneys and Chai Spices are made with great care and attention to detail, we ensure that everything we make reflect our very high standards.

The manufacture is slow, no compromise is made to speed things up, we pride ourselves on our method, it is this method that makes everything taste so good!

What you experience is the taste of traditional Indian home cooking.
