About us

We are a mother and son team.

After a tasting session at my home, where I invited about 10 or so friends to meet my mother and to taste her cooking (no surprises everyone turned up!) We decided to set up a stall at a gourmet food market with the idea to sell high quality authenitic Gujarati food.

Having been invited to Broadway Market in Hackney, we set up our stall in November 2005.
We have been serving our menu since then to the good hungry folk there every Saturday.

Weve since started to trade at Exmouth Market on Thursdays and Fridays.

We have now started to cater at events and festivals and private functions and parties.

So things are pretty busy!

About the food

A genuine heritage
Having been taught to cook by her mother, my grandmother left the region of Gujarat in india with my grandfather in the 1940s.
As with many people who leave their native country, they held onto the culture of the time, religion, food, language, family values. This culture was passed onto the next generation and in turn in a similar fashion to the next, thus bringing the culture of the 1940s to the present date, Integral to this 'cultural time capsule' is food. what you taste in our cooking sauces is what our forefathers enjoyed centuries before us. It is this product that my mother and I cook and share with others.

All the ingredients we use are selected and sourced ourselves so there are no questions in regard to quality. Our fruit and vegetables are bought from traders at the markets we work at.

Thanks

We would like to take this chance to say a deeply felt thank you to all the people who helped and encouraged us when we first started and continue to do so.

Most of all thanks go out to all our loyal customers - you know who you are!

See you soon!
